There is something about the words of the Bible that creates peace and resolution in man (Romans 1:16). The word of God can take a life of ugliness and change it into one of beauty.
The Christian life is beautiful because..
..of what it does for man. It saves man from eternal loss. In the eyes of God, the Christian is very special (1 Peter 2:9).
..of what it creates in man.
1) It creates a life of conviction. The early Christians possessed this quality in abundance.
2) It creates a life of character. While the world begs the Christian to follow along, the character of the Christian says no. (1 Peter 3:1)
3) It creates a life of compassion and love. True Christianity is made up of real and active compassion; it is made up of genuine love.
4) It gives a life of challenge. The great commission was not meant for the apostles alone. It is the duty of every Christian in every age since. And the great commission's "all the world" also includes the community in which we live...it is the only life to live. In the great day of judgment, when all people reflect back upon this world, it will be all too evident what kind of life was the one worth living - the faithful, dedicated Christian life.
