Heart Trouble

Man's heart is the most versatile muscle in the body. It pumps life-giving blood to all of the body. But it is also susceptible to disease. More people die of herat disease than the next five leading causes combined.

There is also something which we may call "spiritual" heart disease, from which many people die each day. The spiritual heart is man's conscience, his intellect, his seat of emotions. This heart is the inner most part of man. While medical volumes tell us of physical heart disease, the Bible tells us about man's spiritual heart problems.

Spiritual Heart Trouble

The wicked heart (Psalms 58:2; Proverbs 26:23)

The lying heart (Proverbs 12:22; Acts 5:3)

The foolish heart (Romans 1:21; Psalms 14:1)

The hardened heart (Exodus 8:15; Daniel 4:16)

The angry (hateful) heart (Deuteronomy 19:6; Ephesians 4:31; Colossians 3:8)

The perverse heart (Proverbs 11:20)

The deceitful heart (Jeremiah 17:9)

The factious heart (James 3:14)

But the LORD said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature;
because I have refused him: for the LORD seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the
outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart.
(1 Samuel 16:7)

And I will kill her children with death; and all the churches shall know that I am he which
searcheth the reins and hearts: and I will give unto every one of you according to your works.
(Revelation 2:23)
