The Advantages Of Being A Christian

The Christian is truly dependent upon Christ (Hebrews 12:2). It has been said that "the true Christian is one who studies and duplicates Christ's life in their own." Being a Christian helps one to be better equipped to live in this world of heartaches and anxiety (1 Corinthians 2:12-14).

The Christian is spiritually minded. (Philippians 2:5)
Our mind is fashioned after that of Christ.

The Christian has spiritual blessings. (Ephesians 1:3)
This includes being a part of the church, having hope of the resurrection of Christ, having the assurance of the forgiveness of our sins, the opportunity to praise God in our worship to Him, and the strength in overcoming temptations.

The Christian has a better life in this world.
We are not talking about the abundance of physical blessings, but we are referring to a fulfilling life just the same. A fulfilling Christian life is simply better than any other. The Christian appreciates the world in which he lives more than an ungodly person does.

The Christian enjoys a loving fellowship. (1 John 1:7)
This fellowship helps us to rise above and resist sin. This companionship is provided for us in the church. The Christian should feel out of place in the world and at home with Christian companions.

The Christian's ultimate advantage - hope. (Titus 1:2; John 14:2)
This hope is far above any hope in this world and reaches into eternity. In eternity we will rejoice in a way we never were able to in this earthly life.

Hebrews 12:2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

1 Corinthians 2:12-14
12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.
13 Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.
14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

Philippians 2:5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus.

Ephesians 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:

1 John 1:7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

Titus 1:2 In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began.

John 14:2 In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
