Things Hate Leads To
- Stirs up trouble (Proverbs 10:12)
- Sin of the tongue (Psalms 109:3)
- Envy (Genesis 37:11)
- Resentment and retaliation (Romans 12:17,19)
- Murder (1 John 3:15)
Personal Consequences of Hate
- It robs people of happiness
- It makes slaves of people. If you hate somebody, you will become their slave, because that person will occupy your thoughts and emotions.
- It affects one physically.
- It keeps people out of Heaven
Overcoming Hate
- Cultivate love (John 15:12; John 13:34; Matthew 22:39)
- Pray (Matthew 5:44). It is impossible to hate a person if you are praying daily for that person.
- Gain an understanding of that person (1 Corinthians 2:11). A better knowledge of that person will deepen your love and concern for him/her.
- Be forgiving (Matthew 6:14)
- Do something good for that person (Matthew 5:44)
Leviticus 19:17 Thou shalt not hate thy brother in thine heart: thou shalt in any wise rebuke thy neighbour, and not suffer sin upon him.

43 Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy.
