BIBLE TEACHING ON THE WEB
Houston Bynum

"Then the LORD answered me and said: "Write the vision and make it plain on tablets, that he may run who reads it" (Hab. 2:2, NKJV). God said to Habakkuk that He wanted His message communicated plainly and clearly. He desires the same today.

Throughout the centuries, God's Word has been communicated in both oral form and in written form. Numerous transitions have occurred in communication methods: from clay tablet to parchment to paper to radio to television to internet. When the Lord commanded us to "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations" (Mt. 28:18), His generic command leaves us open to utilize the various changes in travel and communication methods through the years. It is wonderful to see so many of our brethren who are using the internet as an expedient method for preaching and teaching.

While I certainly would not agree with every idea expressed by brethren and churches on the web, it is evident that our brotherhood is effectively utilizing the internet for proclaiming God's Word. Our website for this congregation also one method we use for outreach, contact, and teaching of the Bible. In fact, a recent visitor came our way because he found us on the web and contacted me by email.

Like so many things, the web has been used for many purposes: some good; some bad. Thankfully, it can be used for the good of mankind in the spreading of the gospel - the good news of salvation through Jesus Christ. Let us continue to use such scriptural, expedient methods to preach and teach God's Word.
