7 UP's
Adapted by Houston Bynum

In an email, I ran across "7 UP's" from scripture. I thought it was an interesting outline. For your consideration, I have adapted the concept and changed some of the verses used:

WAKE UP! Be alert and decide to have a good day. "This is the day the Lord has made; We will rejoice and be glad in it." Psalm 118:24

DRESS UP! A great way to dress up your face is with a smile. A smile is an inexpensive way to improve your looks. "A merry heart makes a cheerful countenance." Proverbs 15:13

SHUT UP! Learn to listen and speak kind words. God gave us two ears and one mouth so He must have meant for us to do twice as much listening as talking. "So then, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath." James 1:19

STAND UP! Stand up for the truth. Have scriptural convictions. Those who stand for nothing will fall for anything. "Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness." Ephesians 6:14

LOOK UP! Look up to the Lord. "When they had lifted up their eyes, they saw no one but Jesus only." Matthew 17:8

REACH UP! Reach up to live abundantly here and eternally in the hereafter. "I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus." Philippians 3:14

LIFT UP!
Lift up your prayers. "I desire therefore that the men pray everywhere, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting." 1 Timothy 2:8

I hope these "7 UP's" lift your day! "Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up." James 4:10
